Is your home ready to take on the heat?

If you are dreading the upcoming summer and all of the heat it brings, you’ve come to the right place. We are Eskimo Insulation, and our experienced insulation contractors in Houston can help you keep your home cool and comfortable all summer long. The following is a list of tips from our experts of a few things you can do to keep your home cool this summer:

#1. Install insulation in your attic.

If you live in an older home, then there may not be any insulation in your attic at all! Insulation will help to prevent hot air from traveling from your attic into your home, and it will also keep the cool air inside your home.

#2. Air seal your home.

Air sealing your home with spray foam and caulk is another important step to keeping the cool air in and the warm air out because it stops air from leaking in and out of your home. Not only will air sealing keep your home cool, it’ll also create a healthier environment inside your home and improve your home’s durability.

#3. Plant a few trees.

Big trees provide a lot of shade, which can help to keep your home cooler. Plant some trees around your home to give yourself some shade to hide under, just don’t plant them too close to prevent stray branches from damaging your roof.
